What’s Inside Issue 2?

  • You shouldn’t need 14 YouTube tabs just to finish a sweater. Page 7 unveils the C.R.A.F.T. Framework—a 5-step strategy that makes wearable crochet feel effortless, even if you’ve never made a garment before.
  • Ever crocheted something beautiful… that didn’t fit? On page 6, the Everyday Shawl gives you real instructions for size customization—plus color tricks to flatter every shape.
  • You finally found the perfect pattern—then realized it assumes you know 3 advanced stitches. Page 4’s Baby Bumps Blanket is truly beginner-friendly and stunning in any yarn—no decoding required.
  • No one warned you that half-finished projects would breed like bunnies. Page 15’s WIP Whisperer article helps you tame your works-in-progress and finally finish what you started—with zero shame.
  • Tired of colorwork that looks lumpy and childish? Page 9’s Color Pop Mittens blend seamless joins, invisible shaping, and custom color options for a polished, gift-worthy finish.
  • Crochet doesn’t have to be lonely. Page 19 tells how YouTuber Creative Grandma built a 370,000-subscriber community—starting from her grandmother’s lap and a simple chain stitch.
  • Before Pinterest, there was Workbasket. On pages 17–18, The Crochet Chronicle shows why printed crochet magazines meant more than patterns—they were heirlooms.
  • Feel like you’re just stitching on autopilot? Page 14’s birthday-based maker quiz (yes, really) will crack you up—and remind you why your quirks are actually your crochet superpower.
  • Modern crochet didn’t invent beauty. It just reinvented it. Page 10’s deep dive into Sámi fiber art proves that wool isn’t just warm—it’s a language of identity, ceremony, and resistance.
  • You finished the stitches. Now what? On page 15, the 5-Minute Rule gets you past the "do I even remember what size I was making?" paralysis and back into your WIPs.
  • Crochet should feel empowering—not like math homework. That’s why page 22’s Queen of Hearts Blanket makes graph-based colorwork actually fun—with pre-counted embroidery charts and square-by-square clarity.
  • It’s time to frog... or is it? On page 2, readers weigh in on the infamous "to frog or not to frog" debate—and one surprising trick from folklore might change how you think.
  • Meet Lulu the Love Dove. She's your next amigurumi win—no shaping stress, just simple spirals and one super cute result. Page 12 makes it easy, even for first-timers.

I love it being a print paper that I can carry with me to read. I haven’t finished the puzzles yet. It has inspired me to get back to thinking about our winter garden. It’s still really hot here in Texas but this has gotten me planning for Fall.

I love the depth of the articles. I share the newspapers with my 90 year old Mother and she loves it too. I appreciate that it's something I can read that's not on a screen. I can tell already I'll be saving them to refer to throughout the gardening season.

It was a wonderful birthday present for my wife! She loved it!

Knit Nation • Issue 4

I’m learning so much. And I really appreciate that. It’s a paper newsletter and not electronic. I’m an older gardener and I like reading and highlighting what I want to remember.

Gardening Nation • Issue 1

I have only received one issue but I am really looking forward to the second issue which is on the way. I haven't made any of the patterns yet, but I know that I will. It's a great paper. I like the games as well as the patterns. Glad I subscribed.

I love the magazine. I’m also love the crochet nation and the knitting nation. I think they are all three fantastic. I have every copy of the crochet and knitting nation, and I would like to have a complete copy from number one through the current month for the history nation if it’s possible, let me know and I will pay you for them. I think they are fantastic. Keep up the great work.

History Nation • Issue 1

I like history so I am enjoying the history paper immensely. I like the information for the different years from the very, very early years to more modern history. I liked reading about the Roman Empire and could see similarities between then and what is happening in the country now. History does repeat itself and this country should learn from that history.

I'm one who loves physical versions of my crochet patterns and never really know what to do next. When I got my first crochet nation newspaper in the mail I really fell in love. Not only are there puzzles for me to do inbetween my crochet breaks but the different articles really catch my attention. I don't know many other people who crochet so the tips/advice that are in the different articles really help me out too. I'm looking forward to my next one and can't wait to see what it all includes. I'm definitely going to have a newspaper collection because I can't see myself ever getting rid of these.

It’s really nice to have a knit newspaper, and more than just patterns but stories, knitting history and fun facts, added extras that magazines don’t always cover and some I’ve not seen at all in knit magazines. I enjoy the grandma stories. They also have kint crosswords for those who enjoy. Good patterns from known designers. I recommend to at least get one to see what it’s like, you may get hooked.

This newspaper is so informative, thoughtfully put together, and fun to read!

Gardening Nation • Issue 4

I like the patterns in the newsletter, but I wish there were more patterns for household things like dishcloths, decorative towels, and toys for children. I do like the comic and mystery story a lot.

Crochet Nation • Issue 18

This issue had gotten lost in the mail and when I reached out about it, I was promptly sent another one. I really enjoy this publication and learn something new with each issue.

Knit Nation • Issue 15

It's a great resource and many of the articles serve as solid reminders of what it's time to do. I'm a moderately experienced gardener, not a novice but by no means an expert, and found most of the info gauged pretty appropriately for me. It's a beautiful publication, with color throughout. Good writing and terrific editing. I worked in newspapers for 25 years and have some idea of the work and talent behind the publication, and I'm impressed and delighted!

I really enjoy receiving the “Crochet Nation” newspaper. I enjoy the articles, horoscopes and games. But mostly, I enjoy the many patterns included in the paper. The instructions are great and describe how to work each stich required in the pattern. I look forward to receiving my paper every month! Glenda Fritz, La Plata, MD
